CBD, or cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in hemp plants. It's one of the many cannabinoids that can interact with the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS), a network of receptors spread throughout our bodies. The ECS plays a pivotal role in maintaining the balance of many biological functions, including skin health.
Our skin has a high concentration of cannabinoid receptors, suggesting a significant role for cannabinoids in skin wellness and maintenance. When applied topically, like with our Broad Spectrum Collagen Cream, CBD interacts with these receptors to potentially offer a number of skin benefits.*
CBD is also believed to have antioxidant properties, which can help support cells against aging skin. By supporting cell health during exposure to these harmful elements, CBD can help your skin look its best by supporting the resilience of your skin and reducing the appearance of aging.*
CBD may even help support balanced sebum production in the skin. Sebum is an oily substance that our skin produces — and while it helps protect our skin, too much of it can lead to skin issues. By helping to maintain healthy sebum production, CBD may contribute to overall skin health.*
What is broad spectrum CBD?
Broad spectrum CBD refers to hemp-derived CBD extract that contains a range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial compounds found in hemp plants, but with THC (the compound that causes the high associated with cannabis) removed.
We chose broad spectrum CBD for our face cream because of the synergistic effect of plant compounds. While CBD offers significant benefits, other cannabinoids and terpenes can enhance those benefits, a phenomenon known as the entourage effect. This means that the various components in Broad Spectrum CBD work together to enhance the overall effects, all without the psychoactive effects of THC.
